Local music might just change the world, and Baltimore’s Parallel Heights is on a mission. With a growing arsenal of original songs and crowd-pleasing covers, this indie pop three-piece brings an inspiring energy to their work both in the studio and on the stage. Having been asked to play at some of the best spots in town, including Rams Head Live and Baltimore Soundstage, and having showcased their musicianship to multiple crowds of over 500, the band has grown fast in their ability to put on an unforgettable performance in any venue. They are currently hard at work conceiving a follow up to their first release, Forest Fires EP, which dropped in 2016.

Multi-instrumentalists Andrew Franklin and Adam Green have performed together at open mics and collaborated on songwriting projects since 2014, but it wasn’t until they teamed up with powerhouse vocalist Karalisa Estes that Parallel Heights was born. With the addition of skilled bassist, Amos Estes and guitar wizard, Dave Suhomlin, they completed their current lineup in the latter half of 2017.

Parallel Heights has been ascribed by Kim Allegrezza (AXS) to “the next generation of Baltimore bands [who] are hungry to make it and have a fire in their belly fueling them forward.” Their recipe contains rich layers of unique ear candy formed by creative instrumentation and stacks of vocals, surrounded by a core of clever and earnest songwriting and cranked to 11 by frontwoman Karalisa’s extraordinary voice. Never limiting themselves to the standard pallet of rock music instruments, the band has employed saxophone, trumpet, orchestral strings, ukulele, and even bagpipes in their music. All of these factors come together to create a unique and refreshing experience in today’s music scene. Parallel Heights’ mission is to take the indie pop genre to unparalleled new heights, while showcasing their vivacity and creativity to listeners at home and around the world.
